NFL Betting Tips Website

September25

Well I know I’ve had a lot of followers of my NFL picks - both here and on forums like NPP - for the last couple of years, so I finally decided to attempt to capitalize on it.

I’ve now launched my new NFL Betting Tips website.  All picks will be completely free, and will usually be up as soon as the lines are up.

You can check the website out for yourself, and get week 3 picks:

Degeneration: A Whole New Level

May10

So every week, if my son has been a good boy, did his chores, cleaned up after himself, put his PJs in the laundry basket etc, we give him an allowance of $4.  Why am I telling you this?  Well because today is Sunday, the day my son gets his allowance.

And May 10, 2009 will also mark my sons first sports bet!

After dinner, we went in to watch some TV.  The Red Wings/Ducks game was on, with 8 minutes left in the 3rd period, and the score 2-1 to the Red Wings.  Now I’m the kind of guy that just can’t watch sports without betting on it.  Period.  It doesn’t matter what teams it involves - I just have to bet on sports.  So I jumped onto Betfair Mobile, only to discover there was no liquidity in the market.  Fuck!  I texted my local bookie, but he didn’t get back to me and the game was starting again after a break.

It was at that point which I turned to my son, pointed to his allowance and said “How would you like DOUBLE that?”

Yep, I convinced my son to put up his hard-earned allowance, and bet on the hockey with me.  He took the Red Wings, and if he won he’d get $4.  I took the Ducks, and if they won I’d get his full allowance.  The odds were in his favour, but that’s okay - what you do is you reel them in with low juice, then you hit them with it when they’re hooked.

Well if you watched the game, Red Wings scored with 4 minutes left and that was all she wrote.  So my son won $4 off me in his first sports bet, and went rushing to the candy store to celebrate with cola bottles and gummi bears.  I am convinced I am going to be called to school some day, because my son is betting his lunch money against others that he can finish the math test first or something.

What was great though was seeing his eyes light up when the Red Wings scored, and he knew he was collecting that money.  We spent the next 20 minutes discussing other sports we could bet on, a topic which as you can imagine, didn’t exactly delight my wife.

“I’ll remember this day”, she said.  “If he turns into a degenerate gambler, gambling his life away, it’ll be because of this day.”

As long as he does that via my affiliate trackers, I have no problem with that. :)

Cancelling my Blockbuster Unlimited Game Rental Thingy

April21

Well at the end of this month, I’m going to cancel my Blockbuster Unlimited Game Rental deal that I had going since the beginning of February.  It’s actually a great idea, but the problem is that you feel obligated to play the rental game.  My game collection is huge and I haven’t been playing a lot of games that I should be, so I’m going to cancel it till like June or July and then get it back.

I’d always planned this to end around this time, for the release of the new Fallout 3 DLC.  Just a shame I wasn’t able to rent some games I really wanted, like RE 5, or Lost for Janise, or WWE Legends, or a ton of others.  Oh well.

So taking a look at my games, other than Fallout I have to play:

  • Rainbow Six Vegas 1.   Story mode and T-Hunt on Realistic.
  • Rainbow Six Vegas 2.  Story mode on Realistic.
  • Bioshock.  Hardest difficulty.
  • Left 4 Dead.  Only played 2 story modes.  Also gotta play it online.
  • Burnout Revenge & Paradise.  Just need to play these more.
  • Dark Sector.  Hardest difficulty.
  • Civilization.  It’s just been sitting there for a LONG time gathering dust.
  • RE4 for the Gamecube.  Yep.  Still not played.
  • Mass Effect.  Barely scratched surface with it.
  • Gears of War 1.  Gotta go through co-op with Risto.
  • Gears of War 2.  Gotta go through on Insane.
  • Fifa 09.  Just haven’t played thus much at all since purchasing.
  • Halo Wars.  Same as above.  Rented it.  Played 1 skirmish.  Loved it.  Ordered it online.  Arrived last week.  Haven’t played it yet.
  • Saints Row 2.  When the new DLC comes out, going through it again on competitive co-op.
  • Marvel Ultimate Alliance.  A lot to do in that, gotta go through it on hardest difficulty too I think with Risto.
  • Skate.  Played for an hour.
  • Rock Band 2.  Need to just play this more.  Hopefully get an NPP jam session soon.
  • Lego Star Wars.  The fact I don’t have 1000/1000 in that is bugging the hell out of me.  I intend on playing this, Batman & Indiana and getting those.  I’m starting to care about achievements again.
  • Call of Duty 2 & 4.  Call me a sadist, but I want to go through both of these(and probs COD 3) on veteran.  I got big balls.

So yeah - whew.  Lot of games to play.  I want to clear out my shelf of games I’m not interested in and just keep ones that I will - you know - actually fucking play.  Add in all the work I have for myself and yeah - gonna be busy times ahead.

Hey I’ve still got it!

March30

I rarely play poker anymore these days.  I just don’t have the time, plus I prefer to play on Fortune Poker and it rarely has limits for 7 Card Stud above 3/6, which is just too low for me.

So I sat down at the computer tonight to do some work, and one of my players messaged me wanting me to transfer them $200 on Pokerstars, and they’d transfer me $200 on Cellsino Poker Rakeback.  So I’m like okay, I have no idea my nickname on Cellsino so let me just log on and check.

So when I log on, it only lists my username, so I go to sit at a table and get the nickname, when I see 1 person sitting at a $5/$10 game for Stud.  Wow.  On Cellsino they never even have over $0.5/$1 there so this was a surprise.  I decided to sit down and play a little.

Well after about 30 minutes, I’m up $300.  The guy leaves the table, and then comes back at a different seat.  The reasoning?  He thought the seat he was sitting in was unlucky.  Yeah, okay.

So we play some more, and I go up another $150.  He wants me to play $10/$20, but I was ready to go at this point and said no.  He started spazzing out a bit in the chat, and I knew he was on tilt, so I said sure let’s play.

Well 5 hands later, I was up another $400, and he called me a PUTANA(which is like a whore) and then quickly left, oops.

$850 in an hour.  I love poker.

Whew!

November24

Well Sunday was…to quote a certain television show…LEGENDARY.

Let’s start with NFL.  First if you follow the NFL Betting Thread on NPP I went 6-1 yesterday, for oh so much so much fucking money.  I’m now up a ridiculous amount of cash this season in the NFL, with a 74.4% picking record.  Shit, that’s hot.

I’m also in an NFL Pickem contest on the SA Forums where there’s a couple of grand up for grabs, and I’ve also got a $1,000 sidebet with a guy.  I’ve been in the top 5 since day one, but yesterday was a very special day where I hit 99 points to take the lead:

The guy I’ve got the $1,000 sidebet with is Chad 2 Ted, so I’d say regardless of an epic disaster over the next few weeks, I’ve got that all nice and wrapped up.

Third, I watched the rest of Ultimate Fighter Season 2 on Sunday and HOLY SHIT - I’d seen a lot less of that season than I actually remember.  I only saw a few of the fights on the finale, and that was like 200x better than the TUF 1 finale with just incredible matches up and down the card.  Fucking phenomenal, and I’m moving onto season 3 now although that one I do remember who wins.

Fourth - Football Manager 2009!  After testing the game out with Rangers, I decided to start a semi-serious game with KR, aka Knattspymufelag Rekjavikur, in the Iceland league as they only have 18 games in a season, and I am fucking loving it.  We won the Upper League Cup, and are top of the league with 5 games played.  It’s quite tough because you can’t really sign any good players or anything - but still a shitload of fun as it gets me back to basics, having to rely fully on tactics.

Fifth and finally, I managed to get Rakeback Resource pretty much launched.  It’s in open beta at the moment with a launch date of December 1st and I’ve got a fairly big to do list for it, but the main thing is it is launched, and it was one of the big things on my to do list I was putting off.

Current To Do List: 46, but I hope to work on that most of today, then work on the Rakeback Resource to do list(about 25 items so far - more when bug reports come in) tomorrow.  Now I’m off to send in my piece of shit broken XBox 360.
