I’ve got a To Do List with about 100 website ideas on it.  One of the ideas I have is a specific social networking site.  I wrote the idea down, and I never went back to it – until today.  I found a social networking script which is cheap(like under $2k for startup), and so it really got me thinking about it.  So on a completely unrelated matter, I was talking to a friend of mine who is in the industry, about social networking in general.

Well I brought up this idea to them – and Boom, just like that, a partnership was born.  We spoke on the phone for about 3 hours, both of us fully passionate about the idea, and by the end of it we had a domain and areas of the site mapped out already.  Oh man – you have no idea how motivated I am for a site like this.  She is also very passionate about it, as she has wanted to do something like this for a long time.

I really wish I could be more open about this idea, but I keep getting hits for “Dealer Dan Blog” so I know a lot of my “competitors” are out there   And while I don’t mind and enjoy the fact that they read, I’d rather keep this all to themselves.

But oh man – this site is going to be so sick.  I’m meeting up with her next week, and we’re going to sit down and map everything out, and set up meetings with people, and go from there.  Anyway I am motivated as fuck now, and really don’t want to go to sleep.  I’m one of those people that when I get something like this – I just have to work on it right away.  Goddamnit, and here I was hoping for an early fucking night.

There’s nothing worse in this business, than when a poker room or affiliate program goes rogue.  This has happened to Cardspike, who aren’t paying out any players or affiliates.  Thankfully I did research when they launched back in September, and I decided against promoting them due to hearing about some of the people involved with them.

Still, a few of my friends got screwed out of thousands of dollars, not to mention the time they put into promoting this program, so I consider it my job to alert everyone to Cardspike Poker – A Scam Poker Site.

Been hard at work all day – no rest for the wicked.  Going to work till 11pm then take a break and play some Saints Row 2 with Brando I think.

Was just phenomenal.  What a fucking episode.  Best HIMYM episode I’ve seen yet.

Onto other news – ah, the curse of being a writer slash webmaster.  I was all set to get into a proper sleeping schedule after going to bed at a good time last night, and waking up at a good time today.  So we were watching How I Met Your Mother just before bed – when an article idea hit me.  At first I started jotting down notes – but as I wrote down the notes, the article started to become more clearer in my head.  So I had to run downstairs, grab the laptop and type it all up.  About 1900 words later, I had to proofread it, do some editing, get others to proofread it, post it on my site, do some edits, submit it via my mailing list to affiliates, update my signature on affiliate forums to mention this new article, then post on affiliate forums to get people to click and read.

Wheee.  Started that at what – 11:30pm, and it’s now 3:30am.  I’m very happy with the article though – it’s entitled: The Best Advice You Will Ever Get.

…and I’ve been awake, and working since 10am on Thursday.  That’s 19 hours of straight work.  And you know what?

I am the happiest motherfucker alive.

Over the last few months, the one thing that has been gnawing away at me is my rakeback site.  Actually, going back for years, I’ve been wanting to switch to a site that offers all my players automated rakeback.  I got things in motion late last year with a coder, but things have been slow.  It took a few months to get things going.  In July I commissioned a designer, and finally got a design by August.  We then had to integrate the frontend with the backend.  Even after that, there was so much more to do, like write content etc.

Well after a marathon fucking session, I AM DONE!  DONE!  Well, not really done.  I still have a to do list of a few items for it.  They are to SEO all pages(just adding meta tasks as the content is all SEO’d), doing a 301 redirect for all existing rakeback links to the new pages, updating the links on Ultimate Poker Bankroll to point to the new site, updating my Fortune Poker Rakeback site with a link to it(for mega SEO purposes), then a whole bunch of e-mail shit like exporting it from one account and importing it to another account, updating all confirmation e-mails etc, then adding it to dealerdangaming.com main page.  Next I have to create a sitemap, W3C Validate the site, get the rakeback calculator on it, and also add an article to it that I hope will result in lots of link backs.

That may seem like a lot, but it really isn’t.  Oh man – you have no idea how happy I am that this is pretty much done – I can go back to having a normal fucking life soon!  Hurrah!

So why the fuck am I still up?  You think I would learn.  I’m overworking myself right now, and I’m gonna have to start pacing myself soon before I start to suffer some burnout.

Anyhoo – I spent most of the morning basically catching up with e-mails and stuff like that.  Then I went through my Google Reader as I had fallen behind on that.  I then decided to start up a contest with a new affiliate program/poker room I am creating.  So excuse my web copy for a moment, but if you’re a gambling affiliate, or have even a slight interested in doing something like that, now is the perfect time to do so.  Even if you don’t want to get into it full time – if you even have some buddies who play online poker, you can make money to them by referring them to an excellent US friendly poker room, as well as win a Nintendo Wii, Ipod or Amazon Gift Certificate in the process.

After getting that up and running, I took Mason to karate which he loved.  We then went and bought the Karate Kid Collection. Then it was back home, and I did a bunch of work, getting my To Do List down to 9 items.

Alright I really should just get the fuck to bed.  Long day of work ahead of me tomorrow, and the guys from PokerVTS.com – a poker video training site, are going to be in town for a few days tomorrow, from Detroit to meet with me.  We’re going to meet up and talk about big plans in regard to marketing that site, so it should be fun, and I’m sure 1 or 100 beers will be drunk before the night is over.
