I really can’t believe I am sitting here writing this - but I just found out that one of the best friends I’ve ever had died today.

Her name was Jen. We’ve been best friends since 1998 or something like that. She was such an amazing person, who dealt with so many troubles in her life early on. They were the type of troubles that most people couldn’t even begin to comprehend or handle.

Yet Jen overcame it all. She managed to turn her life around in a huge way. She got big into yoga, and opened up her own yoga studio last year and I helped her on the webpage. Everything was going so well for her.

And now she’s gone.

We had so many great memories together. One in particular I will always remember. We were at the Club 477 on New Years Eve, just the two of us as the rest of our friends were in Toronto or Montreal. After a few drinks, we went to the jukebox and put on our favourite song, “Every Breath You Take” by The Police.

We put it on 25 times in a row.

I will never forget the reaction of the bar every time it ended….and then started up again. And the twinkle in Jens eye and the beautiful, natural smile as we just sat there, looking at all these pissed off people.

So many great memories, and I am absolutely devastated to think that there will be no more. I just wish we had set up the childrens yoga sooner, so my kids could have experienced just what a wonderful person you are.

Jen, you were one of the best people I ever met. I love you with all my heart and will miss you forever.

Rest in peace.

Tough Life

October20

Sometimes I envy Darfur War Orphans. Their lives are so simple compared to mine.

I just returned from my trip to Mexico, which was AWESOME BTW. Like seriously just fucking sick. All inclusve food & drink and I took advantage of it, including the infamous “35 tequila night” which will go down in history as the craziest drunk ever.

So I return from Mexico, and now what do I have?

- Fallout New Vegas, the new XBox 360 game.
- American Assassin, the new Mitch Rapp novel.
- Worth Dying For, the new Jack Reacher novel.
- No work to do.

Seriously, how am I meant to deal with this? 3 awesome things at once. Oh yeah, plus lots of TV shows that I am into to watch, like Dexter, The Office, Big Bang Theory, The Event, Arrested Development, etc.

Things really are awesome right now though. As I mentioned I really have no work I need to do - and I am going to spend the next little while content writing for CasinoAnswers.com - I’d like to write about 100 articles, and get to the point where content wise we’re good for the next few months. I also have the brand new Poker Affiliate Bible to work on. The good thing is both of these things I can do at my leisure and there really is no rush, that is very nice :)

Alright, off for a bath and to start reading!

Back to Work

September17

Well apparently I’m back at work!

As I’ve mentioned before, I was planning on taking a sabbatical for the rest of the year, and doing basically as little work as is possible for an internet marketer. I took time off for the whole World Cup, and enjoyed it so much I was hoping to take the rest of the year off.

The last little while has been going well as I’ve been doing the bare minimum, relaxing etc. However Maston started school last week and a funny thing happened - I just sort of gravitated to my computer chair. With peace and quiet in the house, I found myself getting back into the routine of waking up and then going straight to work.

Before I knew it - all the aspects of my routine were back, like going to bed at 10pm and waking up at 6am. Not sure how it happened but I am not complaining - I love work, and I’m really happy to be getting back into it.

The next couple of months are going to be very busy too. The two main aspects of work for me are:

Casino Answers: So freaking much to do on this website. We’ve already accomplished a ton - over 700,000 words of unique content in less than a year, and the million mark doesn’t seem too far away. I’ve started doing Casino Video Reviews as well. Google is really giving the website a lot of respect - as it should, considering the quality of it - and I can see it becoming one of the biggest casino portals in 2011.

Then there is Poker Affiliate Bible. I’ve been planning a big redo of that website - a whole new design, and a whole new layout and oh so much more. I finally got the design completed to my satisfaction - so now we have to get it coded, then I have to get to content writing. That’ll probably be about 100,000 words of unique content right there just to get the site ready for relaunch.

So yeah that’s pretty much what I am doing. Not much time for XBoxing etc and I love it - just work, work, work. Oh, and family I guess.

Got a lot of fun excursions over the next little while too. These include:

- Week long trip to Mexico with the wife
- Norm MacDonald in Ottawa
- Billy Connolly in Ottawa
- Dane Cook in Kingston
- 3 day meetup with Frank & Marky Mark in Edmonton, featuring a strip club crawl.

So yes, good times. Oh yes, and Eminem in Detroit was probably the greatest concert ever. The energy etc was just amazing, and the crowd pop for Eminem was one thing - but the crowd pop for Dr. Dre still fucking gives me goosebumps.

Back to work!

Off to Detroit

September3

Off to Detroit this weekend which should be fun.  Going to be doing a photoblog for NPP too so you’ll be able to see in gory detail as I get shot by a band of juggalos.

Just busy getting my Blackberry set up with movies.  I don’t think I will be adding any Lord of the Rings movies, even though there’s a great Lord of the Rings Slot Machine out.

Sorry cheap plug - but it really is cool as I played it earlier.

Anyway yes, off I go!

Great Job City of Kingston

August5

My neighbour has a tree in her front yard which has already seen part of it collapse onto the road a few years ago.

The city of Kingston came out a few weeks ago to check the tree out, and thankfully declared it “safe”.  Yep, that tree will still be standing 50 years from now.

Oh…..wait:

032

Yeah….see that white house where the rest of the tree looks like it’s about to collapse on?  That’s mine.  But it’s okay because it’s “safe”.  Sure the slightest breeze sees it shaking and making weird creaking noises, but if you can’t trust the City of Kingston who can you trust?
