You know – I think what you wear determines so much about how you approach certain things. Like if you go to a bar and see a hot chick you want to approach – what you’re wearing determines how you approach her, or if you ever actually explore her. I know my attitude would be different if I was wearing a business suit, compared to say a Patriots top and torn jeans.
The same applies when working from home, which I just thought about today. I’m wearing just shorts and t-shirt, and I find that I am less “commital” in regard to the work I do. I will avoid big projects, and just work on more casual related things. While if I am wearing pants and a dress shirt or even just a polo shirt, I feel more in the “work” mood, and tackle the bigger projects. Of course this has it’s pros and cons, as I feel a lot more relaxed in shorts and t-shirt, but I think I’m going to start dressing up in the morning, as I feel more focused that way.
So yeah – today I slept in, woke up about 11am and have been “working” pretty steadily ever since, although it hasn’t been the hardest work ever. I did the ol communication – e-mails and all that nonsense earlier in the morning, then did a few clean-up things in regard to sorting out my hard drive, then spent the rest of the day going through my RSS Feeds. I’ve neglected this since I was in Barcelona so I decided to read through them all(pretty much skimming), get caught up to date on the world etc. And….yeah, that’s pretty much my day so far! Current To Do List: 86. Absolutely sick, and I think I am gonna take a shower, put on some nice clothes, then spend the rest of the night working like a maniac.
