Xbox Update: August 2026

July was an interesting onth.

I knew I’d be primarily focused on daily achievements, as I was traveling the entire month, but I still ended up getting proper into a few games.

I focused on games that I could play on my laptop primarily. I got quite hooked on them I have to say. That’s roguelikes/roguelites for you. It’s my favourite genre and I can never remember which is which.

They include:

Monster Train: Tower defense plus deck building! I tried Monster Train 2 as it was on Gamepass but it seemed overwhelming af so I bought this one thinking the reason is because it was a sequel. That proved to be correct. Only did the one playthrough of this so far. Got 7/53 achievements and enjoying it.

Dice A Million: I truthfully don’t really understand this game and its algorithm yet. I need to watch some Lets Plays. Anyway I am at 23/164 on that.

Death Howl: Oh my god I love this game. Deck building, roguelike, AND X-Com style turn-based combat. Very addicted to this.

Dead Cells: Seemed decent enough didn’t quite hook me but got a couple achievements.

Vampire Crawlers: 1ked this. Loved it.
