No-one Believes Me!

Posted by Scotsman on February 6, 2010 in Gambling Affiliate Shit |

Well I’m back home from London/Manchester and it was a BLAST.  A little bit too much alcohol consumed, but overall fun as all hell.

Here’s the sad thing – after launching my latest site Casino Questions I made a vow – to not build any more sites in 2010.  I’ve built too many sites lately and now what I want to do is just sit back and work on them, improve them and make them the most valuable resources on the web.

The only problem is – no-one believes me 🙁

I’ve told about 8 people now that I am not building any new websites in 2010, and every one of them just laugh.  No-one thinks I can do it – I love building websites, seeing the transformation from paper to WWW.  It’s always amazing.

However in all honestly I’ve ran myself ragged in 2010.  While I must say I do think my sites are pretty awesome, most of them are not as valuable as they could be.  Basically I want every one of my sites to be the best possible site for that niche.  And I’m determined in 2010 to simply focus on that, rather than expanding my portfolio.

It’s not going to be easy – I almost bought a new domain today FFS – but I’m going to try my best.

Anyway just wanted to get that little rant out.  NO MORE NEW WEBSITES!

The Tradition Continues

Posted by Scotsman on January 28, 2010 in Gambling Affiliate Shit |

Well I’m off to the London Affiliate Conference tomorrow – a conference for us gambling affiliates.  I always look forward to these – honestly, it’s past the stage of educational for me.  I also don’t really go to make business deals etc – it’s more a place to hang out with friends who are in the industry, and get motivated again.  I mean – I’m always motivated – but I always come out of these conferences fresher than ever.  There’s also a lot of people that I’ve met there that I have became great friends with, and I always meet new people while there, so very pumped about it.

I find it’s like a cornerstone of the year for me too – it’s a time to end old things, and move onto new things, work wise.  For example when I went to Budapest last year – before I went I worked like crazy, and I was actually up until 4am the day I left(noon flight) finalizing a new website – a casino bonus website.  Then when I came back I ended up basically taking the next few months “off” – not working too much for the most part.

Also Frank remembers how motivated I was after that conference – we managed to build a Keno site in exactly one fucking day!

Anyway it happened again – as I type this it is 4:20am.  My flight leaves at 6am, and I’ve been up all night building yet another website.  I’ve been working on this website since like November very slowly – and I’ve went on a mad rush in the last couple of weeks to get it finished.  I aim for it to be the premiere online casino information resource, where you go to find anything you need to know about casinos.  It’s also going to be a very content rich site eventually, although it’s a bit sparse just now with just 22 articles.

I don’t plan on any new sites for the rest of the year.  When I return from the affiliate conference I plan on focusing on my existing sites right now, as there is some that really do need some TLC to help up conversion rates.

Anyway – my new site, yeah.  As I said – I want it to be the premiere online casino resource – the place where you come with ANY casino questions.  Therefore I do believe the site is aptly named:  Casino Questions.

Off to cause me some havoc across the pond.
